LatAm Startups is launching The Five Best Tech Ideas From Newcomers. This competition will allow five winners to participate in a Newcomer Entrepreneur Bootcamp in December supporting them in the creation of a tech company in our ecosystem. Latam Startups is an organisation dedicated to support emerging companies from Latin America to scale globally from Canada.
«One million plus immigrants arrived in Canada between 2011 and 2016. Most immigrants to Canada are well educated professionals —they have to be in order to qualify for immigration. But many struggle to find a job, especially during the first year. Thanks to support from Startup Canada and TrueShield, LatAm Startups has created a two-week bootcamp to inspire newcomers to build new high-tech companies, bringing diversity and inclusion to our startup ecosystem,» says Miryam Lazarte CEO at LatAm Startups.
In October LatAm Startups received the Entrepreneur Success Fund Award 2018 from Startup Canada during Startup Canada Day on the Hill. LatAm Startups will use the award to host a two-week bootcamp to inspire newcomers to build new high-tech companies.
This is the second time LatAm Startups has won this award. LatAm Startups previously won the Adam Chowaniec Memorial Fund for Global Entrepreneurship. More than 150 applications were submitted this year from across Canada.
What are Latam Startup looking for?
Newcomers (Permanent Residents or New Canadians) with the desire to create a tech business in our Canadian tech community. No matter where are you from, we’re here to help you to shape that idea and start to run your project before this year ends.
How it works?
– Register to this event and pitch your idea in less than 280 character.
– Attend the event in November 27th, Latam Startup will be going to announce the 10 Best Tech Business Idea.
– If you’re between the selected 10 Business Ideas announced that day you will have the opportunity to pitch for 2 minutes your idea (no PDF or PPT presentation is required).
– Judges will select the Best 5 Pitches to win the right to attend a FREE our Newcommer Entrepreneur Bootcamp.
