El archiconocido astronauta canadiense Chris Hadfield ha sido una de las pocas voces que se ha alzado en los últimos días para buscar el lado bueno al que, para una inmensa mayoría, ha sido un fatídico 2016.
El popular astronauta, que hizo virales su vídeos didácticos sobre la vida diaria en el espacio durante su estancia al frente de la la Estación Espacial Internacional (ISS) en 2013 —fue el primer canadiense en asumir esta responsabilidad—, o por su versión del ¨Space Oddity de Dave Bowie, lo ha vuelto a conseguir al publicar en su muro de Facebook 46 razones por las que considera que 2016 ha sido un gran año. El resultado, ese mensaje de optimismo y esperanza, ha sido compartido hasta el momento por cerca de 70.000 personas.
Mientras que todo el mundo ha puesto el acento estos días en los dramas de todo tipo vividos durante el año ya finalizado (muertes de celebridades, resultados electorales, tragedias naturales…), Hadfield publicó una lista de 46 razones por las que 2016 podía considerarse un gran año, al margen de todas las fatalidades y pérdidas.
El año pasado el Panda Gigante fue eliminado de la lista de especies en peligro de extinción, la Columbia Británica protege el 85% de la selva tropical templada más grande del mundo, las enfermedades disminuyen en todo el mundo y hay, a su juicio, otras muchas razones para creer que nuestros hijos tienen un futuro esperanzador en este planeta.
